EQUANS is participating in the construction of two new office towers in Brussels that will house intelligent, high-performance and sustainable workspaces, creating a more comfortable environment for its future occupants.
Two new office blocks have joined the landscape of Brussels’ Northern Quarter. EQUANS was invited by Immobel to play a central role in the construction of these two office buildings on Boulevard Roi Albert II. The first tower, consisting of 20 floors, has been completed and recently welcomed its new tenant, Allianz. The second tower, which will have 23 floors, is still under construction. Ensuring the green credentials of these buildings is central to the project and EQUANS is an important partner in this regard. Learn about the new technologies EQUANS implemented in this construction project to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency in the new towers.
The EQUANS teams are in charge of coordinating all the technical aspects. In addition, they provide HVAC, sanitary facilities and the centralised building management system, as well as general electrical, fire detection, access control, security and data centre systems. EQUANS has taken numerous measures to reduce the energy consumption of the two office towers. Among the solutions implemented are the installation of condensing boilers and heat pumps; solar panels on the roof; and the application of “free chilling” in cooling towers – a technique that allows the air temperature to be used for cooling in the air conditioning process. The project bears the ‘Excellent’ BREEAM certificate, declaring it as a passive building that offers high performance and is environmentally friendly.
We would love to carry out similar projects in the future. Thanks to our wide range of expertise, we’re able to manage construction projects from start to finish that guarantee the comfort of users while also reducing a building’s environmental impact.
