Greater logistics capacity through intelligent robotics
How can you automate a complex palletising process without compromising flexibility? SOKOA, a manufacturer of seating solutions for public spaces and offices, turned to Equans Digital’s expertise in industrial robotics. The result is an integrated solution that handles more than 70 product references, builds pallets intelligently and reduces the physical workload for operators. In this way, robotics supports the growth, reliability and agility of logistics operations.
Scaling complex palletising operations for growth
Every day, SOKOA handles boxes of different sizes and weights, destined for a range of locations. Manual palletising had therefore become complex, repetitive and physically demanding. SOKOA needed a scalable approach that could handle larger volumes, reduce loading errors, improve shipment traceability and safeguard quality for customers.
Industrial robotics from concept to support
Equans Digital designed and integrated a robotic cell for mixed palletising. Intelligent algorithms determine the optimal position of each box based on its dimensions, weight, destination and stability. Equans Digital provided the engineering, software, integration, training, commissioning, support and maintenance.
Greater capacity, quality and ergonomics
The robotic solution handles more than 25,000 packages and 20 tonnes of goods every day, equivalent to 60 pallets. More than 70 product references are managed automatically. This enables SOKOA to increase logistics capacity, make better use of loading space and reduce manual handling, while ensuring that stable, transport-ready pallets leave the factory.
“This innovation has significantly improved both working conditions and the quality of the finished product. Our pallets reach the customer exactly as they left the factory.” - Nicolas Charrier, Site and Production Manager SOKOA

Robotics is particularly relevant for repetitive, heavy or complex tasks, and for processes that require greater capacity or consistent quality. Equans Digital analyses volumes, variation, ergonomics and integration options to build a clear business case. This enables you to invest in a targeted solution that supports your operational objectives.
Yes, provided that the robotic cell, gripper technology and software are designed accordingly. At SOKOA, algorithms automatically manage more than 70 product references with different characteristics. By combining robotics with industrial data, Equans Digital maintains flexibility even when product flows vary.
Successful integration starts with a thorough analysis of processes, installations, data flows and safety requirements. Equans Digital aligns the new robotics solution with existing equipment and only adapts processes where necessary. This keeps the impact on production manageable.
The return depends on volumes, cycle times, product variation, staffing, quality and maintenance. Reduced physical strain, fewer errors and higher availability also create value. Equans Digital combines technical and business criteria to develop a realistic business case.
Safety is integrated into the robotic cell and work processes from the design stage onwards. Risk analysis, guarding, detection systems, safe access and training are carefully aligned. This enables operators to work with the installation efficiently and in a controlled manner.
Operators and technical teams are involved at an early stage so that their practical knowledge can inform the design. Equans Digital provides training, on-site guidance and support during commissioning. This accelerates adoption and helps secure performance over the long term.
A robotics project does not end at handover. Equans Digital provides technical support and maintenance to sustain availability and performance. The solution can also be optimised further as volumes, products or processes evolve.
