Stora enso
Stora Enso Langerbrugge, one of Europe’s leading recycled paper mills, wanted to further decarbonise its energy supply without putting production at risk. With Equans as its partner, the company opted for an industrial PV installation designed to perform reliably in a continuously operating environment. Thanks to an end-to-end approach, Equans took care of everything from engineering through to commissioning.
Equans delivered a large-scale industrial PV installation through a turnkey project approach. We were responsible for the design, electrical integration, connection to the high-voltage grid and all inspections.
Goodyear
Goodyear needed a sustainable energy solution for its site in Luxembourg. The solution was a 4,000 m² solar carport on their site.
We installed a total of 1,500 photovoltaic panels, generating 657,500 kWh of green energy annually, equivalent to the consumption of more than 170 households.

Solar Parks UK
The UK is also increasingly switching to renewable energy. Three solar parks built by Equans are making a significant contribution.
These are three parks in Yorkshire and Oxfordshire, constructed under EPC contracts (Engineering Procurement Construction), which are all-inclusive turnkey contracts for the construction of solar panel parks. The farms are being built on agricultural land, so sheep can still graze safely beneath the panels. Bifacial panels are being used, a new technology that generates electricity on both sides.

The Gooiker family
The Gooiker family were looking for an alternative way to utilise the 38 hectares of agricultural land surrounding their farm. They therefore approached Equans to find out how we could provide technical support to help them develop a solar farm in a cost-effective manner.
Equans installed the largest private solar farm in the Netherlands, comprising 117,416 solar panels, on the Gooiker family’s farmland in Voorst. The output from this impressive solar farm will supply 12,000 households with renewable energy over the next 20 years.

Belgium’s largest floating solar farm
Equans has built Belgium’s largest floating PV project on behalf of Floating PV NV, whose shareholders include LRM, EDF Luminus, Sibelco and Group Machiels.
This is the first project in Belgium to make large-scale use of floating solar panels. The 17,256 solar panels cover 5 hectares of the 70-hectare lake. With a capacity of 7.04 MWp, the solar park is estimated to generate a total of 6,300 MWh of electricity per year, equivalent to the consumption of 1,550 households.
