Dely Wafels specialises in the production of frozen waffles. 800,000 Belgian waffles are baked every day at its new production unit in Estaimpuis. NH3 or ammonia, a natural refrigerant
EQUANS has designed and installed an innovative cooling system for Dely Wafels’ new production unit. The cooling system uses NH3 or ammonia, a natural refrigerant. This feature was particularly appealing to Dely Wafels as many of the companies they work with are committed to environmentally friendly solutions.
Solutions for optimised energy use
EQUANS also made it possible to recover heat for underfloor heating and production. Heat that is emitted from the production process is recovered to heat water. The defrosting system is no longer electric, but instead uses the press gases emitted by production. Thus, the new cooling system reduces the energy consumption of the Dely Wafels production unit and waffle cooling systems. The new cooling system enables energy consumption to be managed in the most effective and efficient way.
