De Lijn entrusted EQUANS with the Integrated Facility Management of several bus depots in Flanders, a good example of a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
While companies and governments want to stay focussed on their core business, they also want to provide their employees with an environment where safety, comfort, availability and energy efficiency are considered vital. EQUANS offers its customers integrated solutions for the technical and facility management of their buildings. Since 2011, EQUANS has been responsible for the technical maintenance (hard services) and user services (soft services) of the De Lijn sites in Overijse, Bruges and Zomergem. Due to the success of the maintenance project, in 2016 EQUANS was also entrusted with the complete maintenance of three other sites in Sint-Niklaas, Leuven and Hasselt. Both contracts are for a period of 25 years.
Safety, comfort, availability and energy efficiency
Quality and availability always come first: with good maintenance, service life can be extended and costs can be saved. More specifically, EQUANS’ teams ensure the complete maintenance and availability of technical installations: heating, electricity, HVAC, fire and intrusion alarms, camera surveillance, garage equipment, carwash, petrol stations, etc. We are also responsible for “soft” services such as cleaning and maintaining green spaces, and energy management.
The best value for money
Integrated Facility Management (IFM) is a combination of “hard services”, “soft services” and energy efficiency. EQUANS is responsible for the proper functioning and energy efficiency of the technical installations. We provide services for intelligent and environmentally friendly buildings and ensure the safety and comfort of the people who work there. Thanks to this integrated approach, we can always guarantee the best value for money.
Optimal installation and maintenance costs
De Lijn’s sites are designed, built and maintained in the same way under a DBFM (Design Build Finance Maintain) contract: the implementation of the various parts of the infrastructure project is awarded to a private construction partner or consortium.
Under a DBFM agreement, the construction partner is responsible for virtually all operational aspects of the infrastructure project: the design, building, financing and maintenance.
A DBFM contract is an all-in-one formula for the long-term management of buildings and facilities, giving users guarantees on performance and comfort.
