Industrial vehicle manufacturer: implementing OT cybersecurity
Industrial vehicle manufacturer: implementing OT cybersecurity
From corporate guidelines to implementable OT security
An international industrial vehicle manufacturer selected its Belgian production site as a pilot project for rolling out a group‑wide OT cybersecurity strategy. With high‑tech production lines and complex operational processes, the challenge was to translate abstract corporate guidelines into security measures that genuinely work in an industrial environment. Equans Digital developed a practical and achievable roadmap, closely aligned with the realities of the local OT landscape, and supported the teams throughout every phase of the journey.
From guidelines to practical implementation
As a pilot site, the Belgian production facility was tasked with making corporate OT security guidelines applicable to a dynamic manufacturing environment. Local OT teams faced the challenge of interpreting high‑level requirements and translating them into concrete measures that continued to safeguard both the security and continuity of vehicle production. The complexity of the installations required an approach that was not only technically sound, but also operationally feasible.
A roadmap aligned with OT reality
Equans Digital translated the group’s cybersecurity framework into an actionable implementation roadmap, fully tailored to the organisational and OT context of a modern vehicle manufacturing plant. Our team provided consultancy, programme coordination and validation, ensuring that group‑level technical requirements were seamlessly aligned with the day‑to‑day reality of production and maintenance teams. Through close collaboration with local stakeholders, each step was clearly understood, correctly interpreted and efficiently embedded into existing processes.
Validated, actionable and future‑proof
The customer now has a validated, action‑oriented cybersecurity roadmap that complies with both corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements, without compromising the operational efficiency of industrial vehicle production.
The OT team can continue to build its cybersecurity strategy in a structured and confident manner, backed by a robust and sustainable foundation.

Other questions?
Many corporate frameworks are intentionally defined at a high level, which makes them difficult to apply on the shop floor. Equans Digital translates these guidelines into concrete, actionable steps that align with your operational reality. This ensures your cybersecurity approach is both compliant and practically achievable.
We fully support your teams throughout the process: from interpretation and prioritisation to coordination, validation and implementation. Your people remain involved where needed, while we take care of the programme’s complexity, ensuring production continuity is preserved.
We work closely with on‑site operational teams and assess every measure against their daily reality. This prevents solutions that are theoretically correct but impractical in operation. The result is a roadmap that is widely supported across all involved departments.
Our methodology aligns corporate requirements with current regulations, ensuring compliance with both internal standards and external obligations. The roadmap provides clear insight into priorities and actions needed to achieve and maintain compliance, saving time and reducing unnecessary risk.
In the short term, you gain clear visibility into what needs to be done, by whom, and in what order. In the long term, your organisation builds a robust OT cybersecurity strategy that evolves with the production environment, increasing resilience without compromising operational efficiency.
Yes. Our approach is scalable and designed to bring consistency to distributed or multi‑site environments. You benefit from a clear and uniform cybersecurity strategy, regardless of the size or complexity of your organisation.
