Stora Enso Langerbrugge, one of Europe’s leading recycled paper mills, wanted to further decarbonise its energy supply without putting production at risk. With Equans as its partner, the company opted for an industrial PV installation designed to perform reliably in a continuously operating environment. Thanks to an end-to-end approach, Equans took care of everything from engineering through to commissioning.
Sustainability without production risk
Stora Enso operates 24/7, where downtime is not an option. At the same time, Flemish legislation required the company to install solar panels on the available roof area by 30 June 2025. The challenge was to meet the deadline quickly while ensuring safe integration into a critical industrial energy infrastructure, fully aligned with the requirements of transmission system operator Elia.
A turnkey industrial PV solution
Equans delivered a large-scale industrial PV installation through a turnkey project approach. We were responsible for the design, electrical integration, connection to the high-voltage grid and all inspections. By working closely with Elia and all stakeholders, we ensured a safe, compliant solution with smart monitoring and control, fully tailored to safeguard production continuity.
