Equans has renewed its maintenance contract for the towers and is ensuring the comfort of the new occupants!
At Equans, we know how important the maintenance of technical installations is to ensuring the well-being of a building’s users. A shower that isn’t working, excessively high CO₂ levels or a problem with the air conditioning can all have an impact on productivity and comfort.
To provide the Proximus teams with a pleasant working environment, Equans has recently renewed its maintenance contract for the Boreal Towers. The telecom operator’s staff are taking over from the Retail and Private Banking divisions of BNP Paribas Fortis, which were previously based in this building.
Equans, which has been based in the building since 2016, is ensuring that this transition runs smoothly, both for the staff and for BNP Paribas Real Estate, the building’s manager.
Two well-known towers
The Boreal building has 19 storeys and was constructed in 1999 in Brussels’ Noordwijk district. The building consists of two towers connected by a central core. This is not the first time the building has welcomed new occupants. In the 2000s, it housed Proximus’s head office, and following a refurbishment in 2009, BNP Paribas Fortis moved in and remained there until 2021. In 2023, we’ve come full circle! The Proximus teams are returning to their familiar premises for a few years – until their new headquarters are ready...
Different, yet familiar
The Equans team has been based at the site for almost 8 years and knows every nook and cranny of the Boreal Towers. Air conditioning, heating, ventilation, energy efficiency… With 35,000 m² of office space under its management, the team ensures the smooth running and continuity of the facilities in all circumstances.
And our colleagues are always on hand to welcome new tenants! Whether it’s installing new regulators on the convectors or fitting new supply and exhaust ducts for the future Proximus showers, our experts take care of every detail.
Customer satisfaction above all
As part of the arrival of Proximus staff, the Equans maintenance team also drew on the expertise of other Group entities to offer an extended service to its client. From the modernisation of a high-voltage substation to the hydraulic and air-handling balancing of the entire building, anything is possible with Equans!
Where required, we are also able to act as the client’s technical representative in dealings with their suppliers. This was notably the case during the replacement of the refrigeration units at Le Boréal, a project for which we drew on our knowledge of the installations to supervise the work carried out by an external contractor.
Serving the occupants
The move began in September 2023 and is taking place in three successive phases. By the end of 2023, Proximus will have moved into the Boréal building, from where it will coordinate the refurbishment work on its headquarters at 27 Boulevard Roi Albert II. During this period, Equans will ensure that its move to the Boréal building goes as smoothly as possible. This includes maintaining the facilities, monitoring alerts, analysing faults and optimising operations… With a contract spanning at least three years and a significant ‘projects’ component, our teams have their work cut out for them!
The challenge? To consume as little energy as possible, whilst providing a pleasant working environment for staff.
