Automated system for perfect bend ends
The Impressor X Expressor is a two‑step automated calibration system correcting diameter deviations (outside‑in) and reducing ovality (inside‑out) at bent pipe ends. Through 360° laser precision, it achieves an internal diameter tolerance of ±1.5 mm, enabling efficient fit‑up, improved safety and total process traceability. This world‑first innovation optimises bend end calibration for any demanding pipeline project.
How does it work?
The Impressor first applies pressure to the outside of a bent pipe end, to reduce the diameter to the desired dimension.
Next, the Expressor applies pressure from the inside out, to reduce the ovality of the bend end within tight tolerances. 360° laser technology measures in realtime the effect of the pressure on the diameter and ovality of the bent pipe end to steer the process.
This Impressor X Expressor calibration of bend ends can now deliver an inner diameter (ID) tolerance of just +- 1,5 mm (virtually nothing, that’s why we talk about ‘the perfect circle’). The calibration process is automatically documented, offering total traceability.
